His roots in Kenyan culture and his global musical fluency made him the perfect artist to launch Afrika Guitars.

THE WHY
The spark for this campaign came during a quiet return to my birth home. In October 2024, during the 80th anniversary celebration of the Kenya National Theatre's Conservatoire of Music, the founders of Afrika Guitars sat in awe as Kenyan youth orchestras and soloists filled the air with music that was both masterful and moving. In that moment, something clicked. Despite Africa’s immense musical talent, too many children still grow up without access to instruments. The founder, raised between Kenya and abroad, felt a familiar ache: a childhood shaped by silence instead of strings.
SOMA—Swahili for "learn"—was born from that moment of clarity. It's a campaign dedicated to putting African hardwood guitars into the hands of young learners. Not as charity, but as connection. As empowerment. As legacy.
